I am Veronika Kos Loulová, an opera director
currently serving as the Head of Opera and Operetta
at the Moravian Theatre Olomouc. Additionally, I am
the Artistic Director at the RUN OPERUN company
and a member of the Board of Trustees for Czech
Théâtre News.
In 2015, I founded RUN OPERUN, an independent
company dedicated to making opera more
accessible to young people. Over nearly a decade,
our endeavors have culminated in numerous

acclaimed performances, including large-scale open-
air productions that have numbered several

thousand spectators. The company, run by female
producers, is committed to pioneering new
innovative avenues within opera by exploring themes
such as LGBTQ+ narratives, feminism, and mental
health while incorporating elements of electronic
music and contemporary fine arts. Based on this
work, I successfully passed the selection process for
the new head of opera at the Olomouc Theatre in
2021. I thus became the youngest director of an
opera house in Europe, the only woman in the same
position in the Czech Republic, and also secured a
spot in the prestigious Forbes 30 under 30.
